Absolutely, "wholesome meal" is brutal and unheard of.

"Hearty" seems to be the most natural. I have some other word at the tip of my
          tongue...eh, still waiting.

Amerykanie powiedzieli by zwyczajnie big meal or huge meal :-)

I (in my humble opinion) would suggest "Lavish" or "abundant" to properly
convey the meaning of "obfity"(plentiful but not luxurious).
Definitely not "wholesome", as suggested above, which implies healthy at the
        expense of taste.

        Good luck to y'all

and, of course, there is "copious meal"...
I tend to opt for republican's "huge", since, he's right saying, that's what an
average North American on the verge of barfing would say.
"Hearty" is "pozywny"-nutricious rather than refering to quantity.

Exactly, but it was not republican who said that :-)))

Republican would say that huge or big are better to describe one's penis
              not a meal.
              But "De gustibus non est...."

No, that's what a Republican would say :)

Seven pounds of cabbage is a huge meal indeed.

          What about A SUMPTUOUS MEAL?
          • chris-joe Re: obfity posiłek - jak to powiedzieć? 20.03.04, 16:20
sumptuous is pretty much the same as lavish- they both suggest not just the size
of a meal but style/elegance as well. At least in my book. Tynski?
