Nobody in our part of the world would ever use a literal translation of that.
If you want to call it the Department of Ergonometrics and Physiology of Work
you might get away with it, but it sounds a bit
      supercalifragilisticexpialidocious to me.

Thank You very much ! I've got one more question as I'm in course of writing my
English CV. How to translate "brałem udział w Polskiej edycji teleturnieju
milionerzy" ? Is it something like "I took part in Polish edition of ****** (now
I don't know how to translate "milionerzy", although I was watching it during my
last holidays in UK :) ) quiz" ? Is it sensible to mention it in "additional
        information" ?
        • tuti I wnated to be a millionaire;) 18.04.06, 15:20
"who wants to be a Millionaire"

Is this a joke? Of course it is NOT "sensible". Unless... you are applying to
be a housemate in the next edition of Big Brother...
          • kiki_kiki1 WHY ??? 18.04.06, 17:56
I was asked very hard preliminary question: "what year did Golda Meir became
prime minister of Israel". I knew the answer. Do You think I should treat it as
a joke that I have some general knowledge and it helped me to take part in this
quiz :) ? I think that it says something good about person and shouldn't be
            treated as disadvantage or joke.

Why? Because nobody will take you seriously. I'm sure you're intelligent but
there are other ways you can demonstrate this intelligence on your CV.
Do as you wish; however, I wouldn't put that kind of information on my CV if I
wanted to be considered for a serious position.
              • kiki_kiki1 Re: WHY ??? 18.04.06, 18:30
Ok Natalia, thank You very much for precious advice, but my position won't be
probably serious, although I don't intend to look for a job as bartender, waiter
or labourer :). I'm going to leave Poland and start in UK and as far as I'm
concerned Polish experience isn't relevant for UK employers. So I'll follow your
words and I'll try to put other evidence of my intelligence (?) there :).

PS How do people in Britain react to "Your" instead of "your" etc. ?
                • tuti Re: WHY ??? 18.04.06, 18:39
what do you mean Your instead of your?
                  twoj instead of pana/panski?
                  ty instead of Prosze panstwa?

In English all personal pronouns, apart from "I" are not capitalised!
So they would probably think you're from another planet if you wrote You/Your
                  throughout your letter :-)

                    They are s t r a n g e ;). One more thing makes me wonder: their "educational
system for needs of CV" :) seems to be much more "complicated". I mean that they
have for instance: level 1, QGV 2, level 3, QGX 5. so skills, and courses are
clearly grouped. In consequence they fill part of CV called "additional skills"
or "training courses" almost enitrely. I can only write that I've completed my
studies for obvious reason: something like this doesn't exist in Poland. I
suppose it is strange for British recruiter to compare CV of local people to
those from Poland for example isn't it ?
