Hi Johnny, I have a question re "fair enough". I have a contact with
British business partners. They say sometimes "fair enough" in
informal conversations. Is it a kind of approval, like "that's
fine"? That's what I understand from the context. Thank in advance
for your response, Alex

      Hi!
Yes, you are on the right track. This phrase -'fair enough'-
basically means 'just and honest' in certain contexts. The
word 'fair' has over 30 meanings/usages and-as you have pointed out-
the British use this phrase 'fair enough' a lot. You might say to
you British Partners: 'I am busy on Monday so I will call you on
Tuesday.' They might reply, 'fair enough,' to indictate that they
understand what you say and believe it to be an honest
representation of your situation, this being just one example. Hope
      this helps. Jonny
