Nirvana's song

10.08.08, 21:19
Hi Jonathan. Could you explain the word "cept" from Nirvana's song titled
"Come as you are". The word appeares in the second stanza: come doused in mud,
cept in bleach as i want you to be....
I think the word is a past participle derived from an irregular verb but
cannot find it anywhere. Thanks.

      Hi there!
Song lyrics are not always clear as they often use made-up words
but...'cept' (I love Nirvana by the way!) may mean be an abbr
      of 'except'.. :-)

I don't know about you, but I can hear:
"Come as you are, doused in mud, soaked in bleach".

I've got the album, but unfortunately they don't print lyrics on the
insert, so so I guess we just have to guess :-))

I wouldn't trust lyrics published in the internet, if they are not
          the official copyright version.
